Anyone who may be travelling into the Sacramento or San Joaquine Valley or central coastal areas of the state is asked to report any sightings of yellow-billed magpies. Sightings of the Yellow-billed Magpie are wanted to inform conservation efforts around this splendid species. The bird has a black head and chest, white shoulders and belly, iridescent blue wings, and long tapered black tail. Its bill is bright yellow. Males are slightly larger than females. The Yellow-billed Magpie is known to frequent California’s Central Valley and Central Coast.
