Directions to the Grebe Festival at the Olsen Barn:
The 2023 Grebe Festival was held at the Feather River Land Trust's Olsen Barn property. While we still plan to hold bird walks and activities there in 2024, we are considering another location nearby for the Festival Headquarters this year. Stay tuned!
Checking in for all tours will occur at Festival Headquarters. Kayak tour attendees will caravan to the put-in location prior to the event. Due to the unpredictable nature of grebe nesting and water levels, the location at which kayak tours will put in will be determined closer to the date of the event.

Directions to Major's Outpost for Pontoon Tours:
From downtown Chester head west on highway 36 (driving southwest on Main Street) out of town and take a left headed south onto Highway 89. Take a left on Almanor Drive West (not Lake Almanor West Drive) and follow the Grebe Festival signs and boat signs to Major's Outpost at Plumas Pines Resort. If you pass this road or are coming up from south of the lake, take a right on Prattville-Butt Reservoir Road and follow the signage.
